Our main related organisations:
Founded in 1862, its prime
interest focuses on paranormal phenomena such as ghosts and hauntings,
but the club also covers other related subjects such as UFOs, crop circles
and the Loch Ness Monster. The club has been mentioned in numerous books,
the most notable being "This Haunted Isle" (1984), "No Common
Task" (1983), "Nights in Haunted Houses" (1994) and "The
Ghosthunters Almanac" (1993) by Peter Underwood, "Some Unseen
Power" (1985) by Philip Paul, and "The Encyclopedia of Ghosts
and Spirits" (1992) by Rosemary Ellen Guiley.
Founded in 1851 by a small
group of gentlemen, the club has since grown and developed over the years.
Mr Peter Underwood is the current life president of the society. The Ghost
Club Society is devoted to the serious and impartial investigation, study
and discussion of subjects not yet fully understood or accepted by science.
Castle of Spirits is the best
source of ghost stories in Australia, with 1000's to choose from. Recently,
it is also the home of COSPER (Castle Of Spirits Paranormal & Entity
Research), a group Brisbane Ghost Hunters works closely with. COSPER is
a dedicated group who do not have any preconceived or established beliefs
about the paranormal. Like most ghost groups around the world today, they
pride themselves on learning and gathering knowledge as they explore and
investigate reported hauntings.
